Flying Westjet

Have any of my Canadian friends ever flown Westjet? I'm worried that my tuba case is over their limit of 80" total measurement for oversize baggage. I called the help desk and the no-nothing worker said it had to go cargo. I sure hope this isn't the case. I've flown with the case with other airlines. I'm thinking I should just bring it along with me and hope for the best. Any thoughts?

I flew west jet this past monday with a tuba in an XL Johnson Case that weighed in at 94lbs. I was charged 25CAD each for oversize and overweight.
you need to clarify that it is an instrument, as most airlines have size restriction exceptions for things like instruments, skis etc.
If it weighs more than 100lbs, you will have to send it cargo, however.
I had no problems whatsoever flying with this airline and will do so again in the future. Camjet has worked well also. Jetsgo will cost more for oversize and I would not reccommend AirCanada for mch of anything
happy trails.
