Your play list in Seattle will probably have very little on it that we have here in the Southeast. There is always a list of tunes that have been popular in your area for the last 20 years or more. You instinctively will know half of them from past experience. I found many more local hits by taking a guitar and sitting down with a group of sailors or bar patrons and asking them what they called a good tune. Many of them were obvious once I heard the titles and was surprised how many I already-at least-partly knew. A list of 40-60 tune titles and some research to find right words and chords is enough to get a group started on enough music to play four hours (with 15 minute breaks).
