tuba exchange

I'm a tuba player, so my comments may not mean much. I tried the euph he offered at $895, and thought it was a pretty decent horn. If I had the money to invest in such a horn, I would consider buying it. I don't remember why I didn't try the model you are asking about, but if dollar for dollar it is as good as the cheaper model, it should be worth the money.

I haven't personally tried this horn, but it's been discussed on Dave Werden's Tuba/Euph forum.

See this link for the recent discussion:

tuba exchange

I'm afraid I don't know what the shank size was. When I try horns out at a convention or the like, I carry a couple of tuba mouthpieces. I don't usually carry a euphonium mouthpiece, so I had to borrow one at the booth. I must admit I wasn't being particularly thorough in my review of the horn. Whatever the case, it seemed to be a pretty good deal to me. Of course, if I were considering purchasing one, I would check it out a bit more.

Yes, the non-comp was a large shank receiver.
No, it's not a Dalyan. I did not inquire as to who is actually making the horn.

If I were searching for a euphonium, I'd want to try one of these in the mix. The price is about $1,000 I think.
