Altieri? They make backpack strap bags, the material is waterproof, and no zippers to get broken. It's what I have for my 983, I like it.

I had an Altieri for my 621F and it worked great. I currently have an Altieri for my Cerveny 6 valve Harmonia F, its eventual replacement. Nothing beats Alteri for the amount and versatility of straps. However, the hard case that comes with the 621 is VERY light as far as hardcases go, still smaller than most
tubas out of their case, and offers better protection than the best gigbag. Anyone capable of carrying a full briefcase should have no problems carrying a 621 in its hardcase.

I agree...
...unless you also need to carry music, or more than one mouthpiece. The hard case has no pockets, and that is a PITA for me. My quintet rehearsal is right before my band rehearsal, so I have the quintet book with me and that requires one more arm than I have when lugging both instruments.
A loose, Cordura bag with no padding, designed to slip fairly tightly over the 621 case, with a good-size music pocket, would a welcome product. You could even put backpack straps on it.

I am so very happy with my Dollybag wrapped around my 621. It is light and VERY protective of the horn, and has heavy duty straps as well.
Of course it did take about six months to receive the thing, as I believe that "Dolly" is one old lady who sews the bags in from of Jeopardy and The Wheel at night.
Worth every penny, and even worth the wait! I wish I had one for my Yorkbrunner, but I can't get too greedy since I have one that works ok.

If the Conn is a top action horn there is perhaps one more thing to consider. Putting it in a bag designed for a front action horn will put the valve slide tubing up against your back. Depending on the configuration and weight of the horn this can be a might uncomfortable. You might want to borrow someone else's bag, even if it's not a great fit, and check this out.
