Whilst at the army band tuba conference this past year, i came across an individual seller, selling his used PT606PS. that seller was Cameron Gates, great guy, sold me a great horn. He's says he was one of the first people to buy the 606 when it came out a few years ago, thats pretty cool. the serial number on theis horn is 366658. I thought its pretty cool that the three consecutive numbers in the serial number is"666" . Am i justified in thinking that this is pretty cool?

No, not particularly.

The number on that horn is absolutely meaningless, and I am speaking on Christ's authority! As a matter of fact, one who takes extra meaning or fear into a number in that way can easily by guilty of idolatry. Don't give it any mind at all, for it is only a number like any other.

The number "666" in the Bible is actually the number of a specific individual, and is something that should be paid attention to by anyone seeking knowledge and wisdom (Psalm 111:10).

The real 666 is something to worry about way more than any tuba...

The Pope's Latin title "VICARIVS FILII DEI" which means "in place of the Son of God". Adding those letters which are Roman numerals gives V+I+C+I+V+I+L+I+I+D+I = 5+1+100+1+5+1+50+1+1+500+1 = 666.

IIRC, Cameron Gates was a big proponent of that model. I wonder what he bought to replace it with.

If you don't think that you're capable of keeping that tuba with it's serial #, I'm sure that we could find someone that would gladly take that off your hands.

im in total agreement with duckskiff, tubenet is not the place for theological discussion, and i in no way meant to provoke such a discussion. but who are the five greatest rappers of all time?...Dylan, Dylan, Dylan, Dylan, and Dylan! anyway, that is some fancy trick with numbers, but it proves that some people have way too much time on their hand...hmm, kind of like us tubenetters.

Hey, good point about the "E". Hahaha. I wasn't thinking all that straight at that time, and just cut and pasted from some 7th day adventist website. That really doesn't add up right, does it? LOL.

I'm just trying to get people thinking, and the number does stand for a man. The revival of the Roman Empire is certainly right around the corner, and great power is coming out of Europe. There is going to be a great political leader of ten nations that will be given power from a great spiritual leader, who will make great signs.

This spiritual leader to come will be the Antichrist, and he'll most likely be a trumpet player.

, i was thinking from a rock and/or roll perspective, seeing as how rock was originally concieved as the devils music. At no point in my original post did I ask, "you think this was made by the devil?", or "you think this will piss god off?", or "what does god have to say about this?". I was merely trying to see if anyone else thought that that was kind of cool, i wasnt asking if it was the coolest thing in the world, i just thought it was cool.
