I carry two or three mouthpieces, two tuners, a bottle of valve oil, a bottle of slide oil, a handfull of clothespins, a metronome, a washcloth, and spare AA batteries for a cordless mic.... all in a small multi-zippered sports bag that I bought at a rummage sale for 25 cents! The bags is about 2" x 6" x 8" and has a shoulder strap. Don't know what I'll do when it wears out!

BTW... this bag fits neatly inside a Manhassat Voyager stand bag along with a LampCraft stand light and assorted music folders. Travel smart!

before i switched to a larger met, I used an old doublers case from a selmer tenor case (the clarinet case that fits inside) to carry 4 Tony Clements mouthpieces (quite large), a tuner/met, and valve oil. It served me quite well as well as getting a lot of looks. I just took cardboard and cut the shapes of the mouthpieces and slot for tuner. I didnt use it long enough, but I had planned to replace the cardboard with a hard foam/cloth. The case was free from a local music shop that had it in their junk instrument room (parts)
I liked it because it kept everything stationary and also provided excellent protection for the mouthpieces, being a hard case.

The cardboard inserts took me about half an hour to fabricate, and i think hard foam or better material would have been even faster.

I've used the Dollybag setup you already have. With the hard case I have for my 983 there isn't much room it. To pack it in I have to remove the main tuning slide, slide it carefully into the crater and then re-insert the slide. I do have an small duffle bag that carries tuba rest, mute, music, waterbottle, and the Dollybag. An alternative that works well both for the tuba and my euphonium is one of those Miraphone kit bags that come with their horns. The 2x3x8 zippered bag holds all you mentioned. It's size and shape make a perfect fit in the pouch "tube" on my altieri euph gig bag with a water bottle as a cap. Everything is at the ready at the stand and I can even use the bag as a small stop to keep the mute from rolling away from me. Their earlier version was about the size of a pencil pouch when I was a kid in school with three sides sewn up and the fourth using a velcro closure. That one was even more flexible. The dollybag is good at keeping "stuff" organized, but you're not talking about a huge amount to sort so a bag of equivalent size would probably do just as well.

I like the ones I have from Dollybags. They have a (two-blower) mouthpiece pouch that is leather with heavy-duty zippers and foam protection. There is also room in there for two bottles of Al Cass oil (which are the bottles I use for my homemade oil varieties), a small tuner or stun-gun, pencils, and perhaps a bottle of cologne or money-clip (for the ladies).

I've been using a shaving bag lately. It holds everything I need and there’s room for more! I had a Dollybag for a while but I left it on the top of my SUV after a concert and lost two great MP's... I asked them if they would put a wrist strap on one side and he agreed but I could never get a price quote. I think they're a little email challenged or probably just very busy!! Just yesterday I was thinking that a larger Dollybag version that would also hold a music folder might be pretty cool. (Is anyone listening???)

There are lots of different options and you just have to find what works best for you... Good luck!

i just tote around a laptop bag. it has several compartments that help keep all of my mouthpieces, valve oils, slide greases, tuner, met, all of my music and whatever i want at the time. and they come in a variety of sizes, shapes, colors and costs. office depot would be your best bet. good luck.

I've been using a Swiss Army (Wenger) messenger bag for a little while now going back and forth to school. It can fit the big Vinyl folder my high school gave me and it has a bunch of little pockets and zippered compartments(it SHOULD be used as a lap-top bag). I can fit most of my school books in it as well. Great for multi tasking musicians...

Plenty of room for music books, accessories, instrument stands, music stands, mike, cables, etc. Including my stein.

Has internal pockets to keep the smaller items under control.

I am fortunate that the hard case I have for my horn has a fairly large storage box. I have a small padded leather pouch 6"x4" that I keep my mouthpiece's in, One spare, and the other in it's protective sleeve so they don't get dinged. The whole pouch fits nicely into the storage box where I also keep a can of Johnson Wax's Jubilee wax a few soft rags, oil and slide grease and laundry pins. By the way, the Jubilee works great, Favor works well too, but the Jubilee can is a great size to keep handy.

My wife gave me a corduroy sack-and-pucker with a drawstring that exactly fits my SS G&W mouthpiece and prevents scratches. The G&W and my old Kelly as well as my trumpet mouthpiece plus a bottle or two of valve oil all go in my trumpet case.
I have a leather valise to hold three microphones-wrapped in hand towels, three mike chords,trumpet stand, duct tape, green masking tape to mark our gear, a few tools, two power cords for EONs, a power strip and a fifty foot extension cord.

Ditto on the Swiss Army Bag, mine's their laptop bag before I got another laptop bag, it works significantly well...
