He kept it pretty well hidden behind the stand, but it looks to be a King 1241BF or a 2341BF, possibly with a main tuning slide mechanism added.

Looks like a 1241BF, it looks like he is holding the first valve slide as he walks out, which would be pull out if it were a 2341. It could be a Reynolds too, because I think their model was very similar and had a main tuning slide trigger.

There's always some argument when it comes to these Kings. The 1241 originally had a fixed recording bell and it's clear that this one is detachable. Sometime during the transition from the 124X series to the 234X horns, the tuning slide was taken out of the leadpipe... the bell made detachable (and then fixed upright)... and even on some very early 2341 horns with detachable bells the 1st valve tuning slide was moved to the top. There were other discrete changes. It's either a late 1241 or an early 2341. I currently have eight examples of these horns ranging from early 30's to late 80's.

So... You CAN have an old beater, a King, a bell front, rusty patina and still do pretty well??? He's got one-up though because it's a four valve!
I always love how even though we play the largest instrument... We still have to carry our own music stand off the stage! No respect!!!
And yes, I also play a King...

I think of a favorite comment I've heard:
"There's no such thing as a magic bullet"
I would like to have heard that performance with a better microphone. It appears that they used the mike on Dad's camera. A couple of mikes and a mixing board would have made a heck of a difference.
