At least you'd be able to figure out what it was to better figure out how to get it out.

I could see (or not see as the case may be) that is would be relatively easy to make the valve tubing out of clear plastic. "Relatively" is used considering what goodgigs has already done.
Even better make it out of flexible clear plastic tubing. Then you could have the added advantage of bending the tubing as you play or maybe having the tubing sag as is gets hotter and hotter (as it does in Texas).
I don't care what it sounds like. I want one.
Great work on your alternative material tubas!!!
Colors? Swirls? Graphics?????

This thread started out on the weird side, but this sent it straight downhill.
Chuck, where's that cartoon showing the tuba player's self perception compared with the audience's perception that you posted a few weeks ago?

And whereas, as with most things, the truth lies somewhere in the middle!

As to how it plays, I've honked on this horn and it's amazing. Far superior to a fiberglass sousa. I'd buy one!
Some shameless self promotion: that picture was taken at Thomas Musical Instruments in Santa Cruz, CA.

I guess that means during a poor performance I'll be safe from attack from the audience!
