Although you wouldn't think that the aesthetics of a mute are important, they are. After the National Symphony Orchestra played here the other night, I had a lot of people asking about his (Steve Dumaine's) beautiful mute. Concert was great, but the mute was what struck a chord with a lot of concert goers. I guarantee you that no one has ever commented on how good my Dennis Wick mute looks.
