Do you go to open jam/mic nights?

Like Ben I have landed more than one band job by jamming. Most guitar bands are happily surprised to find how much a tuba adds to a group.
Audiences unfamiliar with tubas are fascinated by it and always seem to enjoy it.
I used to play guitar and sing a open jams but the reaction is so positive to a tuba, I now show up with a tuba in the car and ask permission to bring it in.
