Well, well, well. I heard Pat Sheridan for the first time Saturday night, at the SW ITEA conference performance.

I figured something was up when he walked on stage with those bright black and white shoes on. Being in the second row, with no one in front of us, we got the full show.

Oh, My. I suppose I knew you could do that with a tuba, but I'm glad I got to see and hear it. We're hoping the recording equipment was working ok so we can get the CD (there was some problem with the equipment and Kelly didn't know yet what had been successfully recorded and what had not.)

There were, of course, many other stellar performances, but as you know, Pat is in a class by himself.

Being close to Pat Sheridan is one reason I wish I was still in Tucson. Another is Sushi Ten. Then there's the weather.

And Norm asked: So what piece did he play? Last summer in Coeur d'Alene he played his own transcription of Haydn's 2nd cello concerto, the one that wasn't discovered until the 1960's. Of course his tone and technique were fabulous, and what musicianship! I'd love to hear him live again.

There's another 'interesting' place in Tucson... The Chicago Music Store. Ask to see the tuba graveyard upstairs. I haven't been there in about five years. I hope Mark hasn't scrapped all that brass!

Norm's post has confused me, but I think he's asking what pat played, it was carmen fantasies, his own arrangment tho i think....
