I was doing my annual spring cleaning in my house today and found something that I thought I misplaced a long time ago.... I used go to a school in Cleveland, Ohio for a bit and when I was leaving Cleveland to move to Hartford, a music liberarian friend of mine gave me this as a farewell gift. The whole moving process from was chaotic and I though lost his gift in the process. I didn't even get to see what was inside the wrapper till today when I found it and I almost had a heart attack when I saw what was inside.

The music liberarian friend knew that I was a HUGE FAN of the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble, I think they're called the London Brass now, and he gave me three of their LPs (too bad I don't have to equipment to play them) and a program from their '86 concert with all of their autographs; from Philp Jones on trumpet to John Fletcher on tuba! I don't know how common the LPs or the autographed programs are, but I still think these are freakin' amazing... check them out!

I have that "Classics for Brass " album . I bought it brand new in 1979 while a sophmore in high school. I must have listened to it a million times while I still had a working record player . It has be the best brass album ever produced.
Last year I bought a brand new record player that will connect to my computer so I transfered the vinyl album to a cd. Now I listen to it at least once or twice a week while in my truck. I never tire of hearing the Phillip Jones Brass. There's none better.
