I'd check-out some of the Henry Threadgill's "Very Very Circus" big-band albums. Marcus plays on a mess of those. One title that comes to mind is "Too Much Sugar for a Dime" ...I really like it.

He's also on a nice NewOrleans funk album called " Plunge" w/ Mark McGrain. the whole band is "lowish octave" instruments (tbone, tuba, bass, drums)

Try searching for Spanish Fly; he's also on the "Meditations on Mingus" album, produced by Hal Willner, which is a great album even if it is not all about the tuba! There is a lot more out there that I don't know about, so if anybody else can help, do so. Marcus is one of my personal favorites, and the Threadgill stuff is AMAZING!

You might also want to check out the "Manic Traditions" cd by the Les Miserable Brass Band (Northeastern Records 1990, NR 5004-CD). Very fine playing by Marcus and the rest of the group and some entertainingly different takes on some traditional music. I'm impressed by how many times something really unusual, fun and slightly twisted catches my ear and I discover that Frank London arranged it.
