Your Tuba Recital and/or Recording

Dear Fellow Tub(a)ists:
Chicago Piano Superstore's new Recital Room seats 120 people comfortably and has a 9-foot Steinway Concert Grand Piano on its stage. I love practicing tuba (and piano) in the Recital Room; the acoustics are lively but clean, with perhaps a half second reverb time. The store is conveniently located near I-88 and I-355.
Since we are not zoned as a theater or auditorium per se, we cannot charge your audience admission. Your method of circumventing that is that I, as host, can encourage donations for the artist(s). Likewise, CD sales are not permitted on premises because of Sales Tax complications. However, you could display a sample of each of your CDs and take orders.
The Recital Room's primary purpose is to provide an optimum facility for piano teachers to display their students for families and friends; that activity takes place during store hours. The notion of having you and/or your tuba student(s) perform a recital is due primarily to these factors: I'm the Store Manager and you're a fellow tuba player. However, since student piano recitals and Steinway Artist presentations have priority on usage of the Recital Room during store hours, your recital would be scheduled after store hours: 8:15 on weeknights or 5:15 or Saturday or Sunday evenings. The $35 fee covers the "wholesale" cost of piano tuning by one of our expert technicians.
To supplement your own advertising, recital listings, email invitations, etc., flyers describing your recital would be distributed to everyone visiting our store.
If you like the acoustics well enough (i.e., if the 20-foot ceiling is tall enough to let the long standing waves speak fully), I would be willing to stay after store hours for (a) recording session(s) for your next project. There would be no additional charge beyond the piano tuning fee; acknowledgment of me and the store in your liner notes would be greatly appreciated.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Steve Marcus
