Gregson note question

I was just looking through Gregson, and I thought it might be interesting. Gregson, solo part, third line, second note from the end of staff. Is it E or E-flat? I've heard professionals play either way.

If it's E-flat, how about the E on the same line, 14th note? What's your logical explanation?

just to make sure im looking at the same part, are you talking about the part in teh cadenza of the 1st movement? where there is a mezzo forte below the b flat right before that e/eb?

yeah i play e flat, because i assume the previous e being flat makes the one in question flat. but yeah, i also wonder who has done it which way. but i think it would be neat to here from gregson himself.
