Look at the quintet pic at the bottom right of the page:

I know this family. The 1st trumpet player's 6 YO daughter plays the tuba for his quintet. Actually, all of the quintet members are his children.
Paul Lindsey and kiddos.
His 6YO plays the tuba

How awesome is that?

My son has a good natural brass embouchure and we all hope that when he gets old enough for school band he will have interest. My dad was a superior amateur trumpet player. I regret he died when I was a boy, as I would have loved to be able to do just what this thread is about.
Those of you who do and can -- count your blessings. You all have my best wishes and full support.

Check out the link to the VB Orchestra. The picture makes the conductor look nine feet tall.
The family quinetet is a nice idea, I couldn't imagine rehearsing with my children.
Early US town bands were pretty much family ensembles who moved into a town, got a band started and left a left a relative to keep it going while they moved on to the next town.
