Last night I saw a fantastic concert by the Pan Metropolitan Trio, a jazz fusion/prog rock trio featuring Stefan Kac on tuba, as well as an excellent chapman stick player. I would like to thank Stefan for posting the show on Tubenet's upcoming events section. Does anyone know of any other bands that incorporate a tuba in this style. So far the closest thing I ever heard was Drums and Tuba, but in their prime they were more funk rock.

They sound pretty good.

What's that horn he's playing, a Yam 621?

I asked him at the show, and he plays a Meinl Wesston E flat (probably a 2141) with four piston valves and one rotary.

Jazz Fusion, yes. Progressive rock, no. Need more than a Chapman Stick to be Prog rock.

He is a very impressive artist nonetheless. And they are very good musicians.

Tom Heasley. He is more of the 'ambient' experimental genre, though. Ambient tuba can be found at
