I first witnessed the use of multiphonics from my old high school teacher. That was 4 years ago, and I am just now getting to do it well, it takes practice and coordination. It takes humming the pitch while maintaining your buzz pitch. All I do is use my ear to determine where my singing pitch will land. The toughest part is to hum the pitch without losing your current buzz. It just takes time to do well.

upon reading this thread, and listening the clip, I couldn't help but feel like I had heard this somewhere before....

A quick look through my itunes library reveals that this might be the work of the youngblood brass band? (I'm not sure how reliable this is because I received the recording from a friend who wasn't sure himself)

The recording I have is significantly faster than the youtube recording. Also it sounds like distortion was added by use of mute/mic.

Yah, it's Nat McIntosh from the YBBB. Actually, I think he's a member somewhere on this forum

Yes, that indeed is Nat "The Warrior" McIntosh playing his sousaphone. Though, he is no longer with Youngblood unfortunately. He performed that piece (I believe it's called, "The Warrior Comes Out to Play") at ITEC last summer...and yes, it is at about 1/2 speed compared to the one on the album. I talked to him up in the practice rooms after the perfomance and he was saying that he just wasn't used to playing that stuff anymore since he left Youngblood. So that's probably why it was slower.

He's a great guy by the way. He has a lot of informantion to give and he's a cool guy to talk to. Also, he's in Sotto Voce and he's phenominal.
