Ray Draper's Horn
Does anybody know what the horn pictured on the cover of the "The Ray Draper Quartet Featuring John Coltrane" is? Obviously a big bell front three valve fixed bell horn, but does anybody know the specifics of this horn or others that Ray played? Thanks. Peace. ASG

And Shalom to you too my brother from another mother, any idea's on BBb, Eb? I'm not buying one just cause Ray played it, I'm just really interested in this cat (and I probably would buy one cause Ray played it if there was one for sale.....).

Yeah Man,
I thought so too, but sometimes the mind plays tricks....I'll try to do some close listening after work tonite so I can nail down where I'm talking about. From what I understand about his history he probably did not have a lot of extra horns laying around. I know there's a picture of a german rotary horn on the LA record he did, but I've never heard it, and nobody has convinced me I need to. Stories about this guy that go around NYC on the other hand.....

While I appreciate the opinion, I don't think that this was the case here, 1) because there was no money for anything, and 2) because it's in more than one picture. Thanks though. Really.
