International Euphonium Institute 2007

Congratulations go out to Adam Frey for putting together an amazing IEI for the fourth year running!
We heard terrific performances by Adam, Dave Childs, Markus Theinert, Brian Bowman, David Werden, Kevin Wass, Martin Cochran, the Piedmont Trombone Society, and the Army Ground Forces Band. I was quite pleased not only with the quality of the performances, but also with the diversity of literature on the concerts.
All of the IEI attendees also performed on three participant concerts, assisted by the talented and tireless accompanists Caryl Conger and Magdalena Shumanova. I had the pleasure of working with both of these wonderful pianists, and I hope they'll be back!
I really enjoyed teaching and coaching all the younger students, and talking shop and hanging out with the college students and amateur players, as well as the artists, who have been consistently approachable and friendly at this IEI and all the previous ones.
Thanks again to Adam, all the guest artists, and all the participants for an unforgettable week. I'll definitely be back in 2008!
