We wish to thank the East Texas Parrotheads for sponsoring us for our first performance at the Music City Texas Theater http://www.musiccitytexas.org/ in Linden, Texas.
What a beautiful old building and fantastic accoustics. The sound system was from heaven and we had the pleasure of opening for one of my heroes, Richard Bowden http://www.richardbowden.com/
The audience was there to listen and we enjoyed them immensely.
Richard opened wih a joke stating the the tooth brush was invented in Alabama. Had it been invented in any other state it would have been a teeth brush.
We saved our comedy stuff until late in our set. As we started a song Richard had recorded with Sandy Pinkard called, " I Lobster But Never Flounder", Richard was standing in the wings watching. We did not screw it up and Richard was very complimentary. His show was the best.
The Parrotheads fed us and put us up in a motorhome on a horse farm.
I was up at dawn to see the horses running thrugh the pasture and to wander close enough to the dog pen to wake them all up.
A gig this great is enough to sustain us thrugh a dozen bad ones.
