Bob, The Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic takes place in downtown Chicago, usually just before the Christmas holidays. Most of the big sellers and makers show up to this one but I don't think the specific exhibitor list is available yet.
Miraphones are available at the place in South Bend that you don't like very much. You may need to get over that in order to get one around here.
Also, call Roger Lewis at the Tubadome in Elkhart. He's the MW dealer now but knows where a lot of the stuff is buried. I'm sure he will help you if he can.

Only on my second mind, because I changed UP to a gold brass, hand-made one (thanks to a long service award from my company)! I cannot compare to a Norwegian Star, but it would have to be incredibly good to be better than a 2040/5Bob1062 wrote:Peter, have you tried the MW 2040/5? I believe Mark Carter (in England!) carries them. I have played one, and they are QUITE nice. I think Jonathan is on his second one!

yes, I spent a very pleasant couple of hours at Marks shop a while ago when I was in Cardiff on business (I live 320 miles away at the other end of the country).Bob1062 wrote:Peter, have you tried the MW 2040/5? I am actually having a great time with my Courtois 181, and not looking to change it any time soon, I am just curious to try the NS.
