Bob, The Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic takes place in downtown Chicago, usually just before the Christmas holidays. Most of the big sellers and makers show up to this one but I don't think the specific exhibitor list is available yet.

Miraphones are available at the place in South Bend that you don't like very much. You may need to get over that in order to get one around here.

Also, call Roger Lewis at the Tubadome in Elkhart. He's the MW dealer now but knows where a lot of the stuff is buried. I'm sure he will help you if he can.

i was at dillons recently and they were out of Eb's except for this old "mastertone" horn. mat told me that the noriegian star sells out before they're in stock

Try Rosehills, but I don't think they stock them - only brass band style Miraphone.

Only on my second mind, because I changed UP to a gold brass, hand-made one (thanks to a long service award from my company)! I cannot compare to a Norwegian Star, but it would have to be incredibly good to be better than a 2040/5

yes, I spent a very pleasant couple of hours at Marks shop a while ago when I was in Cardiff on business (I live 320 miles away at the other end of the country).
I am actually having a great time with my Courtois 181, and not looking to change it any time soon, I am just curious to try the NS.
