Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can help me and one of my students. I haven't access to a score and I'm having a very tough time getting access to a recording within my time constraints. It's for a student's placement audition in a few weeks.

The note that I'm wondering about is in the "Normandie" movement - the D in bar 102. Someone has penciled in a D-flat that I'm curious about. Judging from the rest of the excerpt I'd say the ink is correct (about 75% sure anyway) but I'd like to be entirely sure.

In the copies of the euphonium and tuba parts I have, Milhaud apparently liked writing accidentals as they occurred rather than assign key signatures. Measure 101 establishes Bb as the tonic of phrase with the dotted half of 102 as the sixth. D natural is correct, as reflected in both the tuba and euphonium parts.
