Besson BBb 4th valve piston

How much identification is required to select a 4th (around-the-corner) valve piston for a 20-30-yr-old Besson BBb compensating tuba that's missing it? That is, have they all been identical for the past 30 years, or do I need a model (which I can't get) or a bore size?
This is similar to the first tuba I ever played, and I am mildly considering buying it for the sentimental value. And besides, it's cheap because it's missing the valve...
