The following is a cut from an upcoming CD by the State Street Traditional Jazz Band. I used a 1291 BBb 5v Mira with a 35.5 mm custom SS mouthpiece made by dave Houser with the titanium nitride coating on the rim. Ignore the butchered high Bb in the beginning of the dirge section.

Never a great idea to alert your listeners to a mistake before they hear the recording!

That being said, the spirit of the tune was great and it sounded like you had a receptive audience.

You seem to stray into the high range of the tuba quite a bit, even when you're "comping" for soloists...any particular reason for that? You're working really hard up there when you could be just laying a nice foundation for them to blow over, and the busy-ness of your lines draws attention away from the soloist sometimes. Not a huge deal, but I think you could be a little simpler with your lines and stick with a mostly two-beat approach with the occasional "fill" at a phrase ending.

I don't mean to sound overly negative...I enjoyed the track and hope to hear more from your band!

I think I dropped one at the end of the dirge section. That note gives a lot of back-pressure.
