Alternatives to Brass Savers

I don't know about all of you guys, but I have had it about up to here with Brass Savers. I have tried all kinds of things to get the snakes to stop leaving the little black hairs all over the inside of my tuba, but to no avail! I find a little frustrating, being that I just got my valve set rebuilt not six months ago, and I think I would like a better scrubbing anyway. Does anybody know where I might find an alternative to the Brass Savers kit? Thanks!

And, sorry if I seem a little frustrated, having to bathe my tuba twice because of the scrubs does get to me just a bit...

I keep my horn clean by blowing it out with a HVLP blower and spraying valve oil in all the slides and lead pipe after every practice session. Instead of a HVLP blower, you could use a shop vac on blow with a reducer.

So I don't have any actual experience with what I am about to suggest. But ... I've have often thought a shotgun cleaning rope would work well. The 12 gauge bore is .729 inch. Here is Wikipedia link for more sizes.
