Has anyone played one of these?

The information on the web seems rather conflicting. They on the one hand say it is 4/4 "Piggy" and on the other a "Kaisertuba". Which is it? Does it have a Kaisertuba sound?

Hey, I'll throw my two cents out...

I think what they are referring to with the "Kaiser" listing, is that is has a large 'Kaiser' bell. The bell on this horn is supposed to be around 19.7 inches, which I think is bigger than the usual one on a Piggy.

easy, think of it as a "compact Kaiser," or a "pocket Kaiser."

This one is on my short list of BBb's, especially given the open wrap puts the bell closer to my ear than a typical german long-bell.

I thought Arion was the musician of greek mythology who was robbed of his musical contest prize by some pirates, thrown overboard and left for dead, was rescued by a dolphin, and got his revenge. I could be wrong.

Dave, my vote is on the Greek hero of music and justice.

You may say to the 793 'Kaisertuba'. It's allright.
BTW: The Arion has a 360 mm bell and 20,1 mm bore- no Kaisertuba :-)

You are getting models confused! The 683/783 is the model with a 360 mm bell. What I was referring to is the 693/793 with 500 mm bell. Strangely Cerveny seems to call them both 'Arion' to get us all confused
