Tuba stands (for resting the instrument--not playing)

Any suggestions on a stand to put my instrument down on? I've seen a pic of the Konig and Meyer and I have the old school style stand that's big and clunky. I'm looking for something with stability and something that's close to the ground. Any idea's?
Thanks.
Peace.

I have the K&M and it has worked well for me.

My little Eb sure sits secure in my Tubatamer that my tubenet buddy, Al sold me.
The tuba stand is prettier than my horn.
The Tubatamer weighs a bunch but my next gig on the beach with a stiff breeze is going to be fun this next time. :D

I have the Jupiter stand similar to the K&M that I bought at the CMEA convention in January and really like them. Got one for my euph and my tuba for $30 a piece. Probably the best $60 I've spent in a long time for my horns.

I'm not familiar with the Jupiter stand. Could you please tell us more about it?

I play bell-front horns a lot. I suppose all that is out there that might be useful is a 'Tuba Tamer' type of stand. I do get a little tired of the 'three-point' system... resting the horn on the side of the bell, the side of the bottom bow, and the mouthpiece (with a MP pouch cover, of course!).

Maybe I could come up with something like a hospital traction device that I can hang the horn from! ... or maybe one of those Harbour Freight engine hoists!

The Jupiter is very much like the K&M only the quality is not as good. My wife won a Jupiter stand for her euphonium a few years ago and based on its construction, I would not trust the tuba version.

I don't know about that... I bought a Jupiter stand several years ago and have used it at home to store my big York-Master with no problems at all. I also take it to concerts when I have to use the front facing bell on my YM so I can put the horn down during breaks in the action. Sure, it is not as heavy duty as the K&M stand, but it does get the job done. What is nice is that it folds up nice and small so I can put inside the bag I got for my DEG playing stand and put inside the bell for transport.

I've been very happy with my jupiter stand, especially for the price paid. I use it daily and move it between practice and performance sights regularly and have yet to have any problems. It appears to be well made and I expect many years of service from it.
