With A=440, Middle C= 261.6255 hz, C's going down should be 130.8127 hz, then 65.4063 hz, then 32.7032.

Assuming equally tempered pitches, of course.

In general, to find the equally tempered pitch of any note, take your A = 440, or any reference notation and given pitch, and if the note is higher multiply it by 2^(n/12), where n = the number of semitones above the reference pitch, or divide it by the same factor, where n = the number of semitones below the reference pitch.

Here's a widget that does it: http://www.jacklinstudios.com/software/notefreq/
(only for mac, though)
Also, just for the curious,
"normal" Bb is 58 Hz,
pedal Bb is 29 Hz,
double pedal Bb is 15 Hz,
and triple pedal Bb is 7 Hz!
(did I get that right?)

and iiipopes, congrats on your 3001 post!

Then again, they describe the "International Standard" as 435... :roll:

According to "international standards"
C3 (Middle C) = 264 Hz
C2 = 132 Hz
C1 = 66 Hz
C0 = 33 Hz
right?

When practicing my "C" scales, I play it twice in 48 notes, so In in 24.. Therefore, I would say it has a 2.xx% Frequency rating.

The modern "international standard pitch" since 1939 is A=440 Hz. The older "international pitch", standardized at an 1885 Vienna conference as A-435 Hz, was originally chosen by the Paris Academy supposedly after singers kept complaining about high pitches straining their voice. Therefore the first responders to this post are correct in assigning middle C=261.6 Hz etc. The number of C=264 Hz may be close to the higher pitch that some German orchestras use, but is definitely not an international standard.

No. Using my formula above, for middle C at A=435, the pitch is 258.65 Hz (rounded). for middle C at A=440, the pitch is 261.63 Hz (rounded).
