Community bands/ensembles in Fayetteville, NC?
Does anyone know of any ensembles in the Fayetteville, NC area? We'll be moving in a few years, and I haven't seen anything in that area and it's got me worried. Thanks.

Check out this site, it lists a lot of community bands and orchestras (international listings). The site also has links to websites.

Thanks a bunch, Mark. Unfortunately, I've already checked out that list, and haven't seen anything in the Fayetteville, Aberdeen, Southern Pines, or Pinehurst areas of North Carolina.

We've lived in Chapel Hill for about 10 years. I think that we're about 90 minutes from Fayettteville. There are lots of playing opportunities in the Triangle area (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill). I know of one tubist from the Fayetteville area who makes the commute up here frequently to play. I heard awhile back there was a brass band in Fayetteville, but I think they went out of business and sold their instruments. I talked to a euph player from Fayetteville a couple years ago who said there wasn't much going on there for brass players at that time. One thing you might consider is locating on the N side of Fayetteville so your drive up to the Triangle area would be a bit shorter. If you'd like to chat by phone, you could send me a personal message.
