I'm home sick today and had a little time to catch up on magazines.

Although I cannot post a link to this article because it is not yet on the web, I HIGHLY recommend picking up a copy of the latest ESPN Magazine. There is a brilliant article written by Steve Wulf on the Virginia Tech Marching Band, the Marching Virginians.

If there has ever been a better written article on musicians and community, I am unaware of it. Reading the article made me proud to be a musician, for reasons that had nothing to do with music.

My hat is off to Dave McKee and the outstanding members of his band.

Hmm... must be something going around on Tubenet. I read the same article yesterday while home, sick. It made me feel a little better and forget my pounding headache and uncontrollable cough. I think even for a second, my nose stopped running!

I couldn't agree more with Mr. Zerkel's comments. Pick this one up from the news stand if you don't already recieve the magazine.
