Glenn Cronkhite makes the sleekest bag for urban tuba travel, and his MIR191 bag fits the Miraphone 191/1291/1292 tubas exactly, 19x36".

I have an Alteiri bag for my 1291 CC, and it works just fine for me. Plenty of padding (if you're careful) and not too bulky.

Anything specific you want to know?

Why not get the gig bag designed by Miraphone specifically for the instrument:

Why not? Because the Miraphone bag is not actually designed specifically for the instrument. Notice in that link that Miraphone offers only 3 sizes of gig bags for all their tubas. Glenn Cronkhite makes 11 sizes just for Miraphones, plus about another 30 for other brands. I also find the Cronkhite side loading design with the full length zipper allows much easier tuba insertion than the top loading Miraphone bag. As much as I like Miraphone products, I think the Cronkhite bag is a better lifetime purchase for your horn, for style, durability, ease of handling, and protection. Sure, you can save $100 on the Miraphone bag. But, how long are you going to keep this tuba? It might not be long before you wish you had spent the extra $100.

Best,

Like Steve said, I would avoid a top-loading bag (like the Miraphone) for anything but a small top-action horn. The "high wire act" of trying to put a large, expensive front action horn into a top-loader bag is not fun. So, ditto on the Cronkhite recommendation for ergonomics and durability.

I've always thought the opposite of full-length zipper bags -- I'm afraid that if the zipper breaks, then I'm screwed. Or, maybe a better question...do the zippers ever break?

I had a Miraphone bag for a borrowed tuba in Austria, and I really liked it. I'm not sure if it's at all similar to the bag in question here, but it was nice, and well-padded. I think it was an older version, because it wasn't that same electric blue color.
