Pete Link sat in for Gene Pokorny at the CSO concert in Grant Park on Sunday afternoon. "Pictures at an Exhibition" was on the program and Mr. Link really nailed the Bydlo. He was flawless and his tone caused my companion and me to look at each other and mouth "wow." He got well-deserved recognition by himself from the conductor, and he was the first to be recognized. He seemed to think he was playing snare drum in the Star Spangled Banner (an early start?), but it was a treat to hear him from there on.
