is scheduled later in the season of an orchestra I play in. My first exposure to Ron Nelson was many years ago in Wind Ensemble. We pulled up his "Rocky Point Holiday" and I was thinking, oh great, must be a cheesy Leroy Anderson wannabe.
I was wrong.
Now I see this on the program. Anyone out there know it? Decent stuff? Should I practice?

I played it a year or two ago and if I recall the piece correctly its not quite on the same field as Rocky Point, but its no pushover of a part either, certainly worth a look.

Savannah River Holiday - orch version
Finally read it last night. The orch tuba part is decent but no great shakes. I bet the band part is a killer!
