Repair parts for Yamaha Silent Brass

Post by geomiklas »

I have a Yamaha Silent Brass system for tuba that I want to sell. It came as part of the deal when I recently bought my Mirafone. There has been some interest to sell it.

The issue is that I need 3 new straps. Where can I buy Yamaha repair parts (or tell the future owner where he/she can get the repair parts) ?

you can get part numbers on the Yamaha web site and then any Yamaha dealer can order them for you. My local music store didn't seem to be able to identify the right thing to order, but they got it quickly once I ID'd the part number for them.

I searched for yamaha repair parts, but was unable to find such a website. Can you direct me?

I followed up today on the straps. New York Music in Boardman, OH can order a strap kit for approx. $45.00.

MSRP is over $300, internet price is $275 and that is for the newer module that is reported to be not as good as the original.

Does anyone care to offer an opinion on the value of my system (without straps)? Here are pictures of what I have http://picasaweb.google.com/harmonicat/ ... uE5l-aX19U
