hard case

Hey everyone,
I'm going to NYC this year and I need to bring my tuba. I do have one quick question. I am planning on buying a plane ticket for my F tuba, Should I bring my gig bag to have it sit in the seat or should I buy a hard case and use that. Also, does anyone know what hard case will fit a pf-125 gronitz?
