If you play Fnugg, it will not matter WHO is there...I have yet to play that piece for a single person who did not think that it was totally awesome (and, yes, that does include non-musicians and non-tuba-musicians).

I do Fnugg all the time on euph. People expect the same "boring" stuff everyone else plays. Once you start that first Bb with the glissing multiphonic, you immediately have everyone's attention.

"Yakkety Sax" is hard to beat for a crowd pleaser. Or if you can get someone to play along with you, "Get It On" by Chase rocks. Check out Jon Sass' playing it down on his Sagenhaft recording.

I once saw this duet get ready for an open mic contest. They played "Master Exploder" for fun. They probably would have won the night of the contest, but they had to battle Satan...

My HS band director was a sax player and used to love playing YS. Sometimes as a goof at the end of a long, hard practice session, we would see how fast we/he could play it. Sometimes it was pretty close to double time. Percy could blow!

I you showed up in your underwear and looked as good as this lady does, you could fake playing tuba like she does and few would care.

One more for Fnugg. I actually did that at an open mic night. Guitars, poetry, singing. Then I got up and played fnugg and blew them all away. They loved it.

Just for the record, Oystein is not a god, is not God, never was, and never will be. He is one mighty fine tuba player, however. And, you're welcome to take a bullet for him should you choose -- however in this case the Eb would be moot (and mute!).

First, you have to grab the mic and yell, "What song is it you want to hear!?"
