I see the points in what you both say, even if I may disagree on the desirability of a VERY responsive instrument, as I find that control gets harder.

However my question is of a more geometrical nature:

When you move the leadpipe, you somehow have to bend it.

How do make sure that the profile of leadpipe stays circular?

Of course I am aware, that at least one US supplier sells pitch-filled leadpipes. So you of course may have followed the sample and filled your leadpipes with pitch.

But then I never have met a tubist, who has not shown huge abilities in skewing pitch in almost any context.
