Yep, after a loooooooooong flight I'm in Melbourne doing the Jacobs presentations for the Melbourne International Brass Festival.
I was playing some horns here and the bigest they had were a pair of Kalisons, a B flat and CC. Here's the thing, the fifth valve on both were tuned to a 1 & 2 combination! Never saw that before. A local repairman didn't believe it either, we were wondering why.
Can any of you figure this out?

Could it be that it's just a really, really flat whole step? A half-step flat whole step.
