Hello All,

I have recently acquired an old King trombone made by the H.N. White company. It has an F attachment and is in EXTREMLY rough condition, but I'm interested to find out more about the horn. I researched the serial number and found out that it was made between 1955 and 1960. I am a tuba player and occasionally trombone player, but I haven't messed with any older trombones. Does anyone out there have any leads as to where I could go to research more about this horn? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

About .509 bore. Medium small by today's standards. very popular for decades.

MAYBE a 4B, depending on bore size. .525 bore, I think. Or a bass. Measure the bore at the end of the inner main slides,

The 3B is a .525 bore, 7 1/2" bell. 4B is .547 with an 8" bell, and the 5B (now extinct) was .547 with a 9' bell. All nice, easy blowing horns, though they were never considered a truly "symphonic" brand.

Folks, I own a 1963 King 3B. I'm holding it in my lap as I post: .508 bore, gold brass 8 inch bell. It's as original as it gets, as I have the original cleaning rod, lyre attachment, and brown case with fake allegator trim.
