Looks like image files without the proper suffix on the file names.

The images aren't there. There are links in the directory, but the files just aren't there.

You'll see the files. Save one to your local machine. Rename it to add the .jpg suffix. Open it or just double click it if you have an application associated with jpg files.

Like I said, it's a file name problem. Missing .jpg extension. OP needs to fix that to share the pics. Or you can do it the hard way like I just described.

Does the low end work well on that horn or did you do some mods to make it work well. I have that same horn and the low end SUCKS and I wanted to know if there is a way to fix that.

I have never been impressed with these Monster Conn EEbs before, however this one plays much better than any other like it I've tried. Fred, who owns this horn uses a large shank to small shank adapter in the original standard receiver. That seems to make all the difference. Without the adapter the horn plays like all the others. I think you might address the low register problem with your horn in the same way or have the original receiver pulled a little way off to introduce a slight gap between receiver and lead pipe. Of course I don't mean that there would be open space there; just a slight increase in distance within the receiver until the lead pipe starts. You might be able to check this out by temoprarily using a sousaphone bit to see if that produces a better effect. That would probably move the mouthpiece too far out.
We may have stumbled onto the solution to making all of these old Conn EEbs realize some of their obvious potential.

For those of us who value privacy, having to log in to a user group to see a photo, requiring 2 e-mail addresses, is really not something we are willing to do. I own a Conn Monster Eb (currently in Dan's shop for some reworking) and, as interested as I am in this horn, I am not going to spread my e-mail address all over the web, and especially with Yahoo (They are in litigation - $10 Million for photo abuse by their webmaster).

That being said, I would love to have Sam fix all the links so I could see what he is doing. These are a lot better horns than their reputations would seem to indicate. How about it, Sam?

He did, couple days back. Go back to top post, page 1, select a link. The photographs are not going to win any awards, but they should show up. If not, if you can be specific about what happens, someone might recognize your problem.

As for the reputation of Conn Eb Giant Basses, I guess that's one of those things that doesn't matter too much if your particular instrument does what it needs to do, but I can testify that mine (Pan American, therefore Conn?) has the same weakness at Bb below the staff. C is pretty reasonable, Bb is weak, even compared to smaller Eb tubas. So if they have a great low register, you couldn't prove it by me. Otherwise my favorite tuba, though.

Its receiver is a bit messed up, so if some brass craftsman in the Seattle area wants to experiment with the receiver's effect on the low register, here's a volunteer.

Looks like it'd be tricky to get the valve in and out of the casing. Beautiful work, however...

These tubas require a bit of work to play. I'm also doing a 4v version of a Conn Monster. However, I did a lot of my playing on an Alexander F, which has no low register to speak of. But when you learn to play there, those are huge sounding! The same goes for these bad boys; your buzz is everything!
