For those that have played the piece, do you play the low C's as written (right above pedal Bb) or do you play them up an octave?
It only happens 3 times and I can play them in tune and at the dynamic written (FFF!!! Oh what fun it is!). I just wanted to see what people have done in the past.

This being the case, I really don't understand why you would even think about doing anything BUT what is written, in this case.
I don't get the question...did you just want to talk about how refreshing it is to have the pedal note actually written instead of taking it down on your own initiative?

absolutely play as written. I have convinced a handful of orchestral directors to adapt those pedals to the orchestral version. Its really fun!

I was just curious to see what everybody has done in the past when they've played the band version.
Getzeng50s, that's awesome!!! I wouldn't want it to be any other way, those pedals are SWEEEET!
