Opinion on this Amati...

Post by Toobist »

He all,

I'm researching some instruments for possible sale here at the store. Anyone have any input on this?

http://www.amati.cz/english/production/ ... b_631g.htm

It looks very similar in design to the old Conn 2J/3J (plus a 5th valve!). If they're half the horn, I'd be willing to sell it considering the price point.

Any input would be appreciated.

(Rest assured this is /not/ the only avenue through which I'm researching. I'm still doing my homework.)

My memory is vague, but isn't that the type of horn that Matt Walters of Dillon Music Company reported on a couple of years ago? I think his comments were sort of favorable. You might want to search the archives. Matt is a heads-up guy with a lot of tuba knowledge and good advice.
