Which mouthpiece have you Norwegian Star owners found to be best for you. I have not had an opportunity to compare mouthpieces for my own. So far I have had the best results with my Miraphone Rose Orchestral. Pretty different from the TU17!

Tell us more! This horn is so new that the only reviews (positive) here are from people who blew through them at conferences and shows.

What's it like? What can it be compared to? what do you use it for and what sorts of situations are to its' advantage?

Sorry I can't help on the MP but I am very interested in the NS.

Well, the horn certainly is different from my York Monster EEb. Very focused, with good response. Very good intonation, I don't even keep my left hand near a tuning slide! The low end really speaks. The only ensemble I am currently playing in is the Capital City Brass Band (Lansing, MI). I feel the horn is wonderful in that setting.

It all depends on the sound you are looking for. Now I have the choice of the two EEb horns or the 1291 CC. I've been dragging my feet on selling the York, I've played it since the first year of my Masters (1987). It was modernized by Bob Rusk. Unfortunately I lost my job in October, and will be forced to sell (unless fortune smiles).
