An unsolicited testimonial for the MF3

I recently super-sized my BBb from a Mira 1291 5v to an older 5/4 Rudy. I was using 35+ mm inner rim diameters on both horns and found that after 3-4 hour gigs my chops were "blown", so to speak. Over the past 2 years I have acquired a PT-88+, Bach Mega 7, LM 3, GW Bayamo, JK T1-AA and B in an effort to squeeze into a more normal size and still preserve the great low registers on these horns. All of the above-mentioned mpc's are in the 33.5 mm range and were not really satisfactory for me. 2 weeks ago I acquired the MF3 which is slightly smaller (33 mm) than the ones above. Much to my surprise and great delight this mpc is very playable on the Rudy. The rim is exceedingly comfortable and is reminiscent of the older H.M White (King) mouthpieces of yesteryear. I mention this for those tubists using the larger German horns and might not be too fond of the Helleberg style mpc. The bowl mouthpieces are really suited for these horns.
