Yamaha YCB-621 case *need info PLEASE*

Post by armytuba »

Hi. I have a few questions about the 3/4 Yamaha YCB-621 factory case. Thanks in advance for any replies:

1. What are the outside case dimensions; length, and width at the bell?

2. Does anyone know if the factory case fits the YBB and YFB 3/4 tubas, as well?

The case for my YFB-621 will fill a 36" hole in the length dimension. Stand it on its bell and measure from the floor. Don't forget the handle on the end. It's hard to measure when horizontal because the bell end isn't at right angles to the bottom.

And Wade, the outer branches on the BB, the CB, and FB are all identical. I've held a Bb in my hands, and my fingers fell right on the same spot as they do on my F. The other differences you noted affect the interior shape, not the exterior shape. All three use the same plastic shell for the case.

In fact, I've seen the same shell used as a mold by Walt Johnson to make a euphonium case.
