TexTuba wrote:Howdy everyone! I am writing to see about the new edition of Arban for tuba. I have the previous one, so I have a couple of questions.
1. Is it smaller/larger/the same as the previous edition?
2. Are the solos that come in the other brass editions FINALLY in there?
3. Are any of the errors corrected?
I mainly ask the first one because when I was a TMEA they had them for sale, but they looked noticeably smaller. It could also be that mine appears larger due to wear, but I wanted to ask rather than assume. Thanks!

I suggest you ask the publishers. I only have the latest Arban for Tuba which is edited by Wesley Jacobs.

Dunno. Ask 'em.

I bought arban for tuba version 3 last semester. I does not include the solos

. But what I did was just buy the trombone version for the solos. If being up an octave buggs, just take an evening and pop it into Sibelius and put it in the octave (or key

) that is comfortable. But this has been nothing more than fun preparation for the future. I am not ready to play most of the solos anyhow. And about the errors, I haven't encountered many. There are less than in my bordogni vocalise books or Blasevish (misspelled, I know,

)
