A fellow bass player loaned me CD's from this group called "Drums and Tuba." I never noticed a mention of it on this group, so I figured I'd go ahead and do just that.
The group seems to be a techno/electronica/funk thing, and it sounds pretty killin.
Check 'em out on CD Baby:

This doesn't seem like stuff for everyone, but it reminds me of newer Youngblood stuff.
Just another way the tuba has found its place.

Hey Nick,
You're exactly right. Brian Wolff, the former tuba player for Drums and Tuba is now forging ahead as a solo act. Just tuba and electronics, lots of guitar pedals, looping machines and the tuba. It really is a cool thing to experience live. Maybe you've seen some of his stuff on you tube? Search "A boy and his Tuba."
He's currently touring Texas and after he leaves San Marcos, he'll head out to Dallas, Little Rock, Denton and back to Austin for a gig at SXSW.
So if any of you are in those cities or close by and have an opportunity to support Brian and the tuba go check it out.

I've been a fan of this group for a while and it only proves my hypothesis that the tuba is actually more versatile than the general public think.

...understatement. Most of them can't believe that we can play eighth notes.

Does this ("former") mean that Drums and Tuba is no longer touring/recording? Sorry if I'm out of the loop, I'd just think it a shame if the band was no more.

From what I understand, the band has officially disbanded.

A lot of
musicians can't believe that we can play eighth notes. Well, not a lot. But many of them don't believe that we can have good sound and be pleasant to listen to.
