Repair on Altieri bag

I have an Altieri bag, which I like a lot. Yesterday, I noticed a 2 inch, or so, slice in the outer cloth. It is on the back of the bag (shoulder strap side), about 10 inches down from the top. Looks like it got rubbed against something that was sharp enough to slice the fabric. The cut does not go any further through, though.
Anyone have experience repairing such a cut?

Don't forget about repair shops for canvas sails and boat covers. Or, get some upholstery needles and thread from a fabric shop and do it yourself.

Up here they call it a 'Tack shop' I think, and yes, they exist to serve the rich folks who spend their coupon clippings on horses and horse farms for fun. Although, when they get done buying a farm in Mass, they may not be too wealthy anymore.

Just buy a Cronkhite bag, I think you'll like it a lot more.
